The Fremont Street Experience is adding adding an LED sign to the historical street that will pay tribute to downtowns rich history. The new sign is set to be built on the east side of Main and Fremont Streets and, will be approximately 27 feet by 14 feet.
The sign will not be used for advertisements but will display views of Downtown Las Vegas through the decades. The design of the sign will be based on split-flap display boards and will like a sign used in train stations as a nod to the Plaza’s history. The Plaza used to be a train depot and for many years had an Amtrak train station stopping at the hotel casino.
If the city approves the sign construction could start soon with it up and running by December 20th in time for the New Years celebration with the new upgraded Viva Vision screen.
